Moreover, the storage unit is designed to be aligned easily with the 19” transportable rack or ordinary rack cabinet since the setup of the system is effortless and straightforward via the easy connection of Thunderbolt™ 3 between host and enclosure.

Premium Solution with Event Notification and HDD Failure Indication

It’s simple for the MIS staff and end-user to set up the NS370TB3 with system. Through Netstor unit’s web GUI program, not only the hardware RAID can be set up conveniently, but the event notification by e-mail can also be achieved. As a result, when a component or an HDD fails, the storage will alarm and will send an event notification by email to the end-users at once to let them know the situation right away. Furthermore, the storage has HDD failure indication with SGPIO support; as any HDD fails, the red LED indicator on the drive tray will light to allow the users to correctly find the faulty HDD for drive replacement and RAID rebuilding.

Large Storage Capacity & Performance

Designed 4-bay rackmount storage with support of up to four hard drives and delivering extraordinary, optimized 40Gbps performance and achievement, the Netstor unit features Thunderbolt™ 3 interface capable of providing data transfer rates up to 2750 MB/s, 2x times the Thunderbolt 2, for all kinds of data storage and file archiving.

The Uncompromised Hardware RAID Protection

Built-in hardware RAID controller providing uncompromised hardware RAID levels including RAID 0, 1, 10, 3, 5, 6, 30, 50, 60 for all applications with maximum protection and utmost performance.

Drive Tray Supporting both 2.5”/SSD and 3.5”

The drive tray from the Thunderbolt™ 3 rackmount storage has been thoughtfully designed to work with both SSD/2.5” HDD and 3.5″ hard drive for varied professionals with diverse demands on speed or immense storage capacity.

HDD Tray Keylock with Top Physical Security

By the considerately designed keylock for each HDD tray within the storage enclosure, the keylock security helps prevent the MIS staff and end-users from pulling the wrong HDD out of the chassis mistakenly.

Excellent Airflow Ventilation Framework

Designed with two rear hot-swappable blower fans, the well-devised ventilation architecture does genuinely allow the warm air to be smoothly ventilated out of the enclosure in the company of ultra low dBA sound level to suit all kinds of application.

Mac certified. Works with All Series of Thunderbolt Mac

The Thunderbolt™ 3 four-bay NS370TB3 RAID storage has passed Apple’s strict certification testing process and is Mac certified, which supports and works with all series of Thunderbolt 3 and Thunderbolt 2 Mac.

(Note: An additional Apple adapter will be required when working with Thunderbolt 2 Mac)

What are the best SAS drives to pair with NS370TB3?

The NS370TB3 uses the Areca ARC-1214 RAID card inside to connect with the hard drives for work. Therefore, please go to:

https://www.areca.com.tw/support/downloads.html

Select SAS/SATA RAID adapters for component type, ARC-1214 for model name, Compatibility for Item Type. Then download the latest HDD compatibility list PDF (2019/06/03) for the ARC-1214 RAID card.

Open the HDD compatibility list PDF (2019/06/03). Go to page 4; it has stated “The following table is the list of current qualified SAS drives”.

Then you will see four Hitachi (HGST) SAS hard drive models from 6TB through 12TB that are the recommended HGST SAS drives. It has listed:

Do the NS370TB3 controllers use Areca Webgui software? I have an older Areca Model; will I be able to swap out the existing 4 HDD into this new unit?

Yes, you will be able to use your old HDD in the newest unit.

For testing, we used a mac mini(TB2) ==> Deivce(TB2) ==> Apple TB2 to TB3 converter ==> NS370TB3, and the result shows it works.

Therefore, you will need an Apple TB2 to TB3 converter as well.
