Netstor NS390S-8028 is the most high-density 48-bay 12Gbps SAS Expander JBOD enclosure designed for High Performance Computing application of mass capacity storage. The storage is equipped with the latest 12Gbps SAS Expander supporting forty-eight 3.5-inch 6G/3Gbps SAS/SATA drives, and provides high-speed data rates up to 4800MB/s throughput to the host through single HD mini-SAS SFF-8644 cable connection. By the HD mini-SAS out connectors of NS390S-8028, with only one 12Gbps SAS RAID card, up to 256 HDDs of multiple Netstor SAS Expander enclosures are able to be cascaded for mass storage expansion.
Smart Stagger Power-On Design and DataBolt™ Technology
The NS390S-8028 enclosure adopts high-efficiency 800W redundant power supply, and is designed to stagger the spin-up of the 48 drives. The storage spins up the HDDs in two groups, allowing drives to come ready without PSU overloaded by the startup current from drives’ spinning up all at once. The NS390S-8028 is equipped with the new LSI DataBolt™ technology that intelligently aggregates, buffers 6G/3Gbps data and transfers it to host at 12Gbps speeds, delivering up to a 2x increase in throughput performance, allowing users to take advantage of the 12Gbps speeds when using current 6G/3Gbps SAS/SATA HDDs.
Most Space Cost Saving Enclosure with Extensive Storage Management
The high-density 12Gbps SAS Expander storage significantly and effectively saves the cost for spaces within the 19” rack and in the cabinet room. Designed with 48 hot-swappable HDD trays, each tray is built with drive power, activity, and failure LED indicators to understand the status. What’s more, the NS390S-8028 has excellent enclosure management that monitors all components and features audible/visual alerts for fan, power supply failures and over-temperature. The LCD control panels are provided in the front of the enclosure to let administrators know immediately the condition of the unit and for extensive storage management.
