The external desktop 5-drive multi-interface NR710C subsystem features high efficiency built-in hardware RAID processor, providing 0, 1, 3, 5 and 10 RAID levels. Among the highest-speed combo interfaces of USB 3.0, eSATA, and FireWire B, the SuperSpeed USB 3.0 connectivity delivers high-speed data transfer rate 5 Gbps, ten times the USB 2.0; moreover, RAID management can be configured completely by users in minutes using the comprehensive LCD control panel in front or through the user-friendly GUI on screen.
Quiet Fan and Automatic Detection
Netstor NR710C integrates a quiet, swappable fan module, featuring thermister controlled fan speeds and making it completely suited for use in noise-sensitive environments. The backplane on NR710C features thermal sensor and fan detection. When fan fails or temperature is above fifty degrees Celsius, users can be notified remotely by e-mail notification. And as users get closer to NR710C, they can know the error from LCD or beeping from the buzzer. The alarm can be muted from a remote GUI or by mute button on enclosure; furthermore, users can always trace the history events from GUI’s event log.
Tight Security and Robust Structure
Each hard disk drive tray on NR710C has an individual security key lock that prevents hard disk drive from accidental pull out leading to the loss of data. Each drive tray is provided with two LEDs that indicate hard disk drive power, standby, access, and rebuilding condition. In addition, firm and solid metal structure with aluminum housing is applied with NR710C to ensure that hard disk drives are well-protected by this dedicated design, giving data complete protection from any environment.
System Note
1. Operating systems that allow disk volume larger than 2 Terabytes (2048 Gigabytes) include:
-
- a. Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows Server 2008
- b. Mac OS 10.4/10.5 or higher
- c. Linux 2.6.23 or higher
2. If you want to use multiple RAID volumes on eSATA interface, your system should meet either of the following requirements (Both USB3.0 & FW800 interfaces no limitation here).
-
- a. The motherboard’s eSATA port should support Port Multiplier function.
- b. The system should have an internal eSATA card with Port Multiplier function.
